How to Spot the Official Clash Verge Installer

Proxy clients are a favorite target for malicious repackaging — a tampered installer can bundle a remote-access trojan or quietly route your traffic through someone else's servers. One minute of checking beats any antivirus.

Five marks of the official build

1. Source domain: stick to github.com/clash-verge-rev/clash-verge-rev/releases and the links on this site's download page — watch your browser's status bar to confirm the real URL;
2. File naming: official names follow a fixed pattern, e.g. Clash.Verge_2.5.1_x64-setup.exe. Anything labeled "cracked", "activated" or "premium unlocked" is garbage by definition — the app is free, there is nothing to crack;
3. Size: matches the figure listed next to that exact asset on the GitHub Releases page. A "download manager" stub whose size doesn't line up with the listing is a download-portal scam, full stop;
4. Signature files: every installer on Releases has a companion .sig file for Tauri's updater. Repackagers can't forge matching signatures;
5. Hash check — the definitive test. On Windows:

certutil -hashfile Clash.Verge_2.5.1_x64-setup.exe SHA256

Compare the output against the digest shown on the GitHub Releases page. A match means an untouched original.

Channels to distrust

• Search-engine ads claiming to be "the official Clash Verge site" — ad slots go to whoever pays;
• Installers from file lockers, Telegram channels or forum attachments, however helpful the uploader seems;
• Anything that asks you to disable your antivirus before installing.
